Science camp

I had to take a shot of my two babes sleeping. So sweet. The two big girls have been at science camp all this week. They come home everyday with their latest invention. One day they made blue slime which they found great uses for.........

Lulu can't participate in the camp yet, but she tries out all the inventions at home.

The uses for slime are endless!

Today was the last day of camp and parents were invited the last hour to see the showcase of inventions. Izzy and Sophia stand in front of some tunnel system for their bouncy balls that they made.

Sophia's contraption. Now you might think this is "junk" or recycling. It is made from recycling products but the girls were quick to assure us that these precious items are indeed inventions. I can't wait to see how Auntie Lisa packs up Sophia's invention for the plane ride home.

Izzy's invention.

This is the area where the girls made bouncy balls. Pretty cool stuff.

I think they used this polymer snow to make the bouncy balls. It sounded very technical.

I asked if they wanted their "inventions" to go into the recycling when we got home, but the girls spread it out in the playroom to make more inventions.

They also had to take apart electronics to explore how things are made and how they work.

We did send them with Grandpa's remote control helicopter.....which he broke the last time he was here so it didn't work anyways. BUT now it really doesn't work because it is all in pieces. Sorry Grandpa but maybe the girls will learn how to fix it.

A busy summer

Zinni dog is nine years old. My first baby. Adam and I have noticed she is much slower to get up in the morning, but she acts like a puppy when we are up at the Lake. It is fun to watch her run around like a carefree doggie! It was HOT up at the lake and Lala brought out the kiddie pool for the grandkids. Claudia wasn't getting wet at all......

Except for her hind side!

Adam took out the kayak.

Grandpa and Claudia went on a hike.

Lala with 3 of her grandkid girls.

This weekend was my 20 year high school reunion. I was able to reunite with my old friend and neighbor Cheryl, who now lives in Austin Texas with her husband and 2 girls. They visited our house for a day. The 4 girls had a BLAST together and they were all BFF"s instantly. Kennedy, Claudia, Avery, and Isabel leaving the park.

Cousin Sophia is here!!!!! Perfect timing, today Isabel received a kids magazine in the mail. These magazines are sent from Aunt Jane. They loved reading, doing the puzzles and games in the magazine. Thanks Aunt Jane!!!!

Claudia finished up farm camp this week. Her last hour was an open house for the families to come and see what she has been doing for the last 2 weeks. Sophia and Didier get a lesson on how to feed the sheep.

Claudia decided she just wanted to pet the horse and not ride him today. At the start of camp she sat on the horse but was too scared to ride him. She did progress to riding the horse....she also told me that she did jumps and trotting with the horse too. Hmmmmmm.

Sophia loved the zip line.

Claudia too......

Checking out all the animals.

More to come. The big girls start Science camp tomorrow!

Washington DC

We had a great trip to DC and Virginia this summer. The girls played around the columns at the Jefferson Memorial. Nana and Grandpa were our hosts and tour guides.

Claudia age 3 1/2.

Isabel, age 6 (love the front teeth).

Hi President Obama!

Touring the Air and Space Museum. This was a very cool museum.

We experienced about 2 miles of the Appalachian Trail before our hikers tired out. This was with lots of water breaks, trail mix break and Adam carrying Lil Lu on his shoulders!

Nana as our tour guide.

Track camp

Happy Birthday Zinni Dog! Zinni turned 9 this weekend. We were up North for the big race. Lots of little girls hanging out together. Dinner time.

Post race, big sister smoked her little brothers.

The girls tried to cheer for me but they missed me. They were able to see Uncle Dave and cheer him to the finish line.

6 grumpy runners as it was cold and raining at the start of the race!

Izzy and her friend Mary attended track camp this week. I have 2 great videos but they aren't posting for some reason. I will try again later. Here Mary is mid-air as she does her long jump.

Isabel doing the long jump.

Isabel running the 400 yard dash. She is not sure she likes to run. She tells me she doesn't like to get "hot and sweaty".

It was Claudia Lu's last day of gymnastics yesterday. Her class preformed a little show to showcase their skills. She is so proud of her medal. Good job Claudia!

Izzy turns 6!

The birthday celebrations have begun with the arrival of Nana, Grandpa and cousin Sophia. It was a special day on Izzy's 6th b-day because Sophia had permission from the teacher and principal to be able to spend the whole day in Izzy's kindy class! They were excited...and maybe a little nervous too! Izzy and cousin Sophia getting ready to spend the day together at school. They had matching outfits, "thanks" to Grandpa!

Birthday girl and mama.

Birthday girl, mama and the girls!

Izzy got a bigger scooter which was such a hit with all the girls that we made multiple trips to Target so everyone has a matching one. Thankfully it folds up small so Sophia can take her scooter home.

This weekend we had her kid party, it was lots of fun and no clean up for me!

Claudia hung out with her little friend Evelyn. They went on all the bouncy houses.

Isabels ice cream cake. She wanted it to be a "spring" cake with flowers and butterflies.

And we finished the day off with a few rides and a grand present from Nana & Grandpa, an American Girl doll which Izzy has named "Izzy".
